 Fun, Friends, Dance....

What is “Physie”....?

Bjelke-Petersen (BJP) Physical Culture, or Physie (pronounced 'fizzy'), is a sport for girls and women from 3 years up which aims to build confidence, good posture, strength, fitness and flexibility through exercise. Physie has been around for over 100 years, with routines updated annually. The routines or the ‘syllabus’, which is different for each age group is choreographed to modern music and incorporates dance, ballet, pilates and aerobic exercises.

The Physie year culminates in a series of friendly competitions for both teams and individuals. These are not compulsory, but they do help to foster a club spirit, a sense of belonging, and club loyalty. The National Junior Finals are held at Olympic Park Sports Centre, Homebush Bay. The prestigious senior and ladies National Finals are held each November in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House. Most of all, Physie keeps girls healthy and builds self-esteem whilst forming great friendships- It’s also heaps of fun!

The Coastal Physical culture Club runs classes from Kincumber and Erina Fair on the NSW Central Coast. To find out more about our club, please visit our main website on www.coastalphysie.com or check the contact page for other contact details.
